Learning to drive is expensive enough so avoid paying unnecessary fees.
Learner drivers booking to take their test could be paying up to 65 per cent over the odds by using seemingly helpful online booking services.
That's according to a statement issued by the AA, which was alerted by a number of young drivers who had used third-party commercial websites to book their test and been charged an "administration fee" for the privilege.
Simon Douglas, director of AA Driving School, says: "These so-called 'services' invite you to type in the same details you would if booking directly with the DSA, only on a different website and at a hugely inflated cost."
The advice to learner drivers is simple: book directly with the DSA and avoid paying these unnecessary administration fees.
